Jakarta — The Indonesian Military’s Naval Regional Command (Koderal) III has strengthened security at vital maritime facilities in the waters around Jakarta following alert level 1 orders from Military Commander-in-Chief General Agus Subiyanto.

“Clearly with these conditions, we are implementing enhanced measures, especially as we approach the Lebaran holiday period. With the escalating situation at sea, we will clearly be implementing increased presence at certain key locations,” stated Commander of Koderal III Rear Admiral Uki Prasetio at his office on Monday, 9 March 2026.

He explained that security efforts are being prioritised in strategic sectors, particularly vital national facilities.

“We are implementing enhanced presence at each point, especially following requests from Pelindo and Pelni to strengthen security measures, particularly at ports and certain locations,” Uki said.

In earlier reports, Military Commander-in-Chief General Agus Subiyanto issued alert level 1 orders to all Indonesian Armed Forces units as a precautionary measure against developing global circumstances, particularly escalating conflict in the Middle East region.

The telegram specified that all TNI units must increase operational readiness in line with intensifying international conflict dynamics and their potential impact on domestic security circumstances.

Alert level 1 status has been in effect since 1 March 2026 until further notice.
