JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) has stated that it has long been utilising the facilities owned by the Vehicle Testing and Certification Agency (BPLJSKB).

The President Director of TMMIN, Nandi Julyanto, said that the company has been utilising the facilities in Bekasi, West Java, to support its vehicle research and development activities.

“This includes the addition of the Proving Ground facilities, which have been operational since August 2025,” said Nandi.

For information, BPLJSKB is a technical implementing unit under the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, which is tasked with ensuring that motor vehicles meet safety standards and are roadworthy before being marketed.

The facility is now equipped with a modern proving ground to carry out various vehicle tests, ranging from construction inspections, type testing, to roadworthiness certification.

The BPLJSKB proving ground has an area of approximately 90 hectares with various special tracks, such as a high-speed track, general road, uphill track, and off-road track.

The testing standards applied now not only refer to national regulations, but also international standards such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNR).

The existence of proving ground and crash test facilities in the country is considered important for the automotive industry because it can accelerate the vehicle development process.
