TMMD Programme Provides Decent Housing for Manokwari Residents
Kodam 1801/Manokwari aims to provide decent housing for the community through the 128th TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) programme. In Tanah Rubuh Village, North Manokwari District, Manokwari Regency, West Papua Province, the construction of Yulianus Kanop’s house has now reached the stage of installing the roof frame. From early morning, TMMD task force personnel along with local residents have worked together to complete the roof frame installation. This stage is crucial as it serves as the main support to protect the building from heat and rain, while also determining the overall strength of the house structure. Commander of the TMMD 128 Task Force, Captain Inf Pius Huik, explained that the construction process is being optimised to ensure the house can soon be occupied by its inhabitant. “The installation of the roof frame marks that the construction has entered an advanced stage. We are striving for the entire process to proceed on schedule and for the result to be truly habitable,” said Pius in a press release on Tuesday (5/5/2026). He added that the house construction is a form of TNI’s care for the community, particularly for residents who need a safer and more comfortable place to live. “The involvement of the community in the construction process is also an important part of the TMMD programme. In addition to speeding up the work, this togetherness strengthens social relations between the TNI and the residents,” said Pius.
