TMMD in Bantul Targets Road Construction and Unfit Housing Rehabilitation

The TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) Phase III programme in Bantul Regency is targeting the construction of road infrastructure and the rehabilitation of one unfit-for-habitation house (RTLH) in Padukuhan Rejosari, Terong Village, Dlingo District. Commander of Kodim 0729/Bantul, Lieutenant Colonel Kav Fikri Nurheldi, stated on Wednesday that the programme focuses on both physical and non-physical development tailored to community needs, including the opening of a new access road to facilitate residents’ mobility. The primary physical target involves opening a new road spanning 500 metres with a width of 4 metres. To support this access road, a block concrete pavement will be constructed along 650 metres with a thickness of 10 centimetres and a width of 70 centimetres on both sides. A retaining wall will also be built, measuring 130 metres in length, 30 centimetres in width, and 1.3 metres in height. Beyond road infrastructure, the TMMD targets the repair or rehabilitation of one uninhabitable house belonging to a local resident. On the non-physical side, the programme will conduct various educational outreach activities and community capacity-building efforts to support resident empowerment. Meanwhile, Bantul Deputy Regent Aris Suharyanta said the TMMD programme embodies the spirit of mutual cooperation that is a strength of Indonesian society in supporting development. He noted that through this third phase of TMMD, the military and the people work hand in hand to complete tasks for the common good. He added that TMMD is a strategic programme to accelerate infrastructure development in rural areas, which is expected to boost the community’s economic growth. The combination of robust infrastructure and economic empowerment will lead to an improvement in community welfare that is equitable and inclusive, ensuring no resident of Bantul is left behind.
