Malinau, North Kalimantan — The 0910/Malinau District Military Command (Dandim) and the 092/Maharajalila Military Resort Command (Korem) have completed the construction of a range of public facilities under the TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) 128 for the 2026 fiscal year, including roads, bridges and community shelters.

“A number of physical targets have been completed with a 100 per cent achievement,” said Dandim 0910/Malinau, Lt. Col. Inf Muhammad Syaiful Arif, at the closing of TMMD 128 for the 2026 fiscal year in the border area at the Luso Village football field, North Malinau District, Malinau Regency, North Kalimantan Province (Kaltara), on Thursday.

The Dandim noted that physical targets include the construction and upgrading of a 1,200-metre-long road with a width of 6 metres, the construction of two ulin bridges, the construction of community shelters, and other targets such as rehabilitation of housing not fit for habitation (RTLH), bathing and washing facilities (MCK), bore wells, and paving of the road to the Nasrani public cemetery.

In addition, TMMD in Malinau carried out a range of non-physical activities including outreach and socialisation with the community.

“The non-physical activities include education on healthy and harmonious families, national awareness and defence of the state, dangers of drugs, disaster management, law and public order (kamti(b)mas), stunting, as well as free medical treatment and the distribution of staple foods,” said Muhammad.

The TMMD activity, which lasts about a month from 22 April to 21 May 2026 and involves about 150 personnel comprising military members, support staff, technical instructors, and the community, was officially closed by Danrem 092/Maharajalila, Brigadier General TNI Mohammad Sjahroni.

“The TMMD implementation aims to realise the unity of the TNI and the people and to assist the regional government (pemda) in improving the welfare of the community through both physical and non-physical development,” said Letkol Inf Muhammad Syaiful Arif.

Wakil Bupati (Wabup) Malinau, Jakaria, expressed appreciation to the TNI ranks, particularly Kodim 0910/Malinau, for carrying out TMMD ke-128 for the 2026 fiscal year in Malinau Regency.

“Alhamdulillah today TMMD ke-128 activities have officially closed with the local government. All targets reported by the Dandim have been realised, from road access to the provision of clean water,” he said.

He added that all development programmes carried out through TMMD have progressed well and provided tangible benefits to communities, especially in interior areas and in regions difficult to reach by regular development programmes.

“Indeed, the areas being developed are not easy to tackle through regional projects. With TMMD, communities can feel the opening of access and facilities that are greatly needed,” he said.

The Malinau Regency Government, he added, also hopes TMMD programmes will continue in coming years because they are seen as able to accelerate the pace of development equality in remote areas.

“We hope communities will use these facilities well and help maintain and take care of them. Because development in such areas is not easy to carry out,” Jakaria concluded.
