PT Trans Marga Jateng has ensured operational readiness of the Semarang-Solo Toll Road to handle the Eid holiday traffic for Lebaran 2026 (1447 H).

Sutomo Halim, Director of Administration and Finance at PT Trans Marga Jateng, stated that various measures have been prepared to anticipate the surge in vehicle volume during the Eid holiday period.

“Peak mudik traffic is predicted to occur on 18 March 2026, whilst peak balik traffic is expected on 24 March 2026,” he said.

During the Eid holiday operational period from 11-31 March 2026, traffic volume is predicted to increase significantly. During the mudik period, traffic is forecast to rise by 222.1% compared to normal conditions and increase by 2.2% compared to 2025 figures. Meanwhile, during the balik period, traffic is expected to increase by 347.3% from normal conditions and rise by 36.8% compared to the previous year.

To anticipate this surge, the company has prepared various operational service strategies. In the transaction sector, TMJ will add 65 standby officers, provide 2,000 electronic money cards, add 36 mobile reader units, and optimise the Oblique Approach Booth (OAB) lanes.

For traffic services, TMJ will add two tow vehicle units, one portable Variable Message Sign (VMS), and strengthen road signs and traffic disruption handling scenarios.

From the road maintenance perspective, the company has prepared a field standby team consisting of patching, cleaning, landslide alert, and flood management teams.

Additionally, TMJ has ensured the readiness of five rest areas along the toll route and added two functional rest areas at KM 439 A and KM 445 B. Personnel additions in cleaning, security, and traffic management staff have also been made to anticipate vehicle congestion.

Sutomo emphasised that these various measures are being undertaken to ensure safe and comfortable travel for mudik passengers on the Semarang-Solo Toll Road.

“We want to ensure that road users’ journeys during the Eid mudik period run smoothly so that people can experience comfortable and shared mudik travel,” he said.

TMJ also urged road users to comply with traffic signs, ensure adequate electronic money balance, fuel, and vehicle condition before entering the toll road. Traffic information can be accessed through the Jasa Marga Group One Call Centre at number 133 or through the Travoy application.
