Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian has invited regional governments to maximise the use of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) Version 3 for 2026 as the basis for formulating more precisely targeted policies.

The DTSEN, released by Statistics Indonesia (BPS), contains updated information on the social and economic conditions of the population, and can serve as a reference for regional governments in formulating various development programmes.

“The DTSEN census, the single socio-economic data containing both social and economic data, version three, 2026, has already been published by BPS,” Tito said in a statement on Monday (13 July 2026).

He made the remarks while chairing an Inflation Control Coordination Meeting, combined with a discussion of the Economic Census progress, the release of DTSEN Version 3 for 2026, and an evaluation of regional government support for the 3 Million Houses programme. The meeting was held in a hybrid format from the Sasana Bhakti Praja building at the Ministry of Home Affairs headquarters in Jakarta on Monday (13 July).

Tito stressed that regional policy formulation must be based on the latest data, given that various social and economic indicators are constantly changing. According to him, the DTSEN can be used for a range of purposes, from the distribution of social assistance and the 3 Million Houses programme to various other policies that directly address the needs of the population.

“I ask that this be utilised by policymakers, whether regents, mayors or governors, in order to formulate policies relating to their respective regions,” he asserted.

In addition to encouraging the use of the DTSEN, Tito also asked regional governments to invite their local BPS offices to present the substance of DTSEN Version 3 for 2026. The move is expected to ensure that regional policymaking is based on updated data with a higher degree of accuracy.

“Perhaps the local head of BPS could be invited to present it, and in policymaking, once again, it should be based on data that has been updated, because a great deal of data has changed,” he added.

On the same occasion, the Head of BPS, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, explained that her office had released DTSEN Version 3 for 2026 based on the results of the latest data update. The DTSEN covers 290,125,073 individuals and 95,980,577 families. The data has also been reconciled with the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Following Tito’s instructions, Amalia asked provincial and regency/city heads of BPS to coordinate with their respective regional governments in explaining the substance of DTSEN Version 3 for 2026 so that it can be optimally utilised in regional policymaking.

Furthermore, Amalia expressed her hope that provincial and regency/city heads of BPS can hold regular coordination with the heads of the local Dukcapil offices to continuously synchronise data so that the DTSEN can be properly consolidated.

“Many thanks for the support, assistance and collaboration given thus far, so that we can continue updating the DTSEN in accordance with the established timetable,” she concluded.
