Tito Karnavian Performs Dawn Prayer and Distributes Aid in East Aceh
The head of the Task Force for the Acceleration of Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) in Sumatra, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, visited East Aceh Regency to review reconstruction progress and distribute community aid to affected residents.
Commencing his visit, Tito performed the dawn (Subuh) prayer together with local residents at the Darussalihin Mosque in East Aceh, Aceh. In a solemn and familial atmosphere, Tito also distributed community aid from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the people of East Aceh.
The aid was symbolically handed over to East Aceh Regent Iskandar Usman Al-Farlaky and to representatives of the local community. In his remarks, Tito outlined the latest progress in post-disaster management in Sumatra.
“In Aceh, out of 18 affected regencies and municipalities, we see that particular attention is needed starting from Aceh Tamiang, East Aceh, North Aceh, Bireuen, and Pidie Jaya,” Tito said in a written statement on Friday (20 February 2026).
Tito elaborated that the affected areas in Aceh had generally experienced a range of disaster impacts. These included damage to infrastructure, mud deposits, disruption to irrigation flows, and severed road access. The government, together with relevant parties, continues to work on addressing these various issues.
Tito emphasised that the state is present and will continue to pursue optimal post-disaster recovery, including in East Aceh. Furthermore, all parties continue to work hard to ensure the recovery process proceeds swiftly so that communities can recover and return to normal life.
“And once again, East Aceh is one of the areas that is a focus of our attention. This demonstrates that the state is present for post-disaster recovery,” Tito concluded.
