Tito Karnavian Closes Aceh Ramadan Nuzulul Quran Festival 2026
The Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, officially closed the Khanduri Nuzulul Quran Aceh Ramadan Festival 2026. The closing ceremony was held in a festive atmosphere at the Masjid Raya Baiturrahman complex, Banda Aceh.
In a speech on Friday (6 March), Tito said he was pleased to be able to gather at the Aceh community’s flagship mosque during the Ramadan month. Especially at the Nuzulul Quran moment, when the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the community appeared enthusiastic.
“So this is our pride to gather here. A special happiness,” Tito said in a written statement on Saturday (7 March 2026). He believes that the mandate from President Prabowo Subianto to lead the PRR Post-Disaster Recovery Task Force for Sumatra is a fate to be carried out properly. Since first receiving the assignment, Tito has pushed ahead in promoting post-disaster recovery in Sumatra. He also noted that President Prabowo has shown close attention to recovery efforts, especially in Aceh.
Tito expressed gratitude that progress in post-disaster recovery is positive. At least national road infrastructure has gradually returned to normal, the economy is recovering, and electricity is functioning well. He assured that the government will work hard to accelerate rehabilitation and reconstruction in Sumatra post-disaster.
“Everything will be done until it is finished, insha’Allah,” Tito said.
He further explained that the government will continue to channel aid gradually to communities. He also appreciated the support and active participation of community leaders so that rehabilitation and reconstruction can progress optimally.
“Please support from all parties, the DPR, and community leaders so that we are given strength together to restore Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. So that recovery is swift, complete, and even better,” Tito concluded.
After the speech, Tito, together with Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, was allowed to strike the beduk as a sign of the start of buka puasa. He also handed over 5,000 packages of worship equipment. The public crowded the courtyard of the Masjid Raya Baiturrahman to break fast together.
Attendees included Aceh MPU Chairman Faisal Ali, Rais Syuriah PWNU Aceh Muhammad Nuruzzahri, Grand Imam of the Masjid Raya Tengku Haji Muhammad Ali, Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, Deputy Governor Fadhlullah, and other related parties.
