Interior Minister Tito Karnavian has emphasised that work-from-home (WFH) policies must be implemented by all regional governments. Tito stated this as part of national policy.

“Yes, all regions (must implement WFH),” Tito said after a meeting with Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR) at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (13/4/2026).

Tito said that in principle, the WFH policy must continue to be implemented, even though there are still regions that have not yet applied WFH. The technical arrangements are left to the regional governments.

“The policy in principle must be implemented, but the issue of proportionality, the proportion, whatever it’s called, is left to the discretion of the regions. How many do WFH, how many do WFO,” he said.

He stated that the WFH policy is a national policy. He said all regions must carry out those regulations as a form of loyalty to the central government.

“But as a national policy, it must be followed and implemented, to show that the regions are also loyal to the central government,” he said.

“This is in the context of transforming work culture to be more effective and efficient,” he added.
