House Commission IV Chair Siti Hediati Soeharto has expressed appreciation for the various government performance achievements presented by President Prabowo Subianto at the MPR Annual Session alongside the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026).

The politician familiarly known as Titiek Soeharto assessed that the points of success delivered by the President, particularly in the food security sector, represent tangible work that should be welcomed by all Indonesians.

“There is much to be grateful for; all the achievements made by the government have been conveyed. For example, from my commission, regarding rice and maize self-sufficiency,” Titiek said after attending the session at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta.

Following the success in rice and maize self-sufficiency, Titiek affirmed that House Commission IV is ready to oversee the government’s next strategic steps. She encouraged the Ministry of Agriculture and related agencies to immediately pursue self-reliance in other strategic commodities that still depend on imports.

“What we must pursue next is self-sufficiency in soybeans and garlic, as soon as possible,” Titiek stressed.

Earlier, in his state address, President Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia had recorded significant progress by achieving self-sufficiency in eight food commodities over the past year. The President described the achievement as a source of pride for the nation.

Nevertheless, the President acknowledged that challenges remain for certain commodities such as garlic, beef, and buffalo. The government is targeting Indonesia to achieve garlic self-sufficiency within the next three years. Meanwhile, for chicken meat, Indonesia is reported to have successfully met its needs independently.
