Jakarta — Siti Hediati Hariyadi, Chair of Commission IV of the Indonesian House of Representatives, has praised the Indonesian National Police (Polri) under the leadership of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo for implementing the directive of President Prabowo Subianto regarding bridge construction.

Titiek conveyed her appreciation directly whilst attending the inauguration of 27 bridges and the groundbreaking ceremony for 83 Precision Red and White Bridges in Riau.

“I wish to convey congratulations and appreciation to the Indonesian National Police under the leadership of our Police Chief, General Sigit, and particularly to the Riau Regional Police, who have just completed the construction and inauguration of 27 bridges,” said Titiek.

She stated that the police-led bridge construction projects are greatly needed by the community as they facilitate the smooth movement of schoolchildren and others. “These bridges connect two areas that are desperately needed by communities so that children can attend school smoothly. The President’s directive has been directly implemented by the Police Chief and his team,” she said.

She also emphasised that Polri will not stop building bridges solely in Riau, expressing confidence that these connecting routes will be constructed throughout Indonesia.

“Admittedly, bridge construction is not normally a police responsibility, but because we are called upon to swiftly resolve problems in the regions so that children can learn properly, commute to school safely, and the economies on both sides of these bridges can function well, the police have stepped in. Commission IV once again appreciates and extends our gratitude for the concrete steps that Polri has taken,” she concluded.
