Tirtamas to give IT services

JAKARTA (JP): The widely diversified Tirtamas Group yesterday
launched PT Infomas Sistama, a company to provide information
technology services to local firms.

The group's chairman, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, said at the
launching that the company's range of services would include the
operation of bank call centers and network centers, credit card
processing, information technology and internet banking.

He said Infomas would initially focus on the group's banking
and finance entities, and later would expand to provide
outsourcing services to other Indonesian banking institutions.

"I can guarantee that Infomas' operation will not conflict
with the group's interests as it is backed up by renowned
international software and hardware producers," Hashim said.

He said Infomas was the first company licensed by the U.S.
government to use encryption technology from Digital Insight of
the U.S.

Besides Digital Insight, Infomas has also built partnerships
with global firms like IBM Corp., Lotus Development, and Hughes
and Fiserv Corp. (rid)
