Tiorita Br Surbakti Officially Appointed Acting Regent of Langkat
Wakil Bupati Langkat, Tiorita Br Surbakti, has officially assumed the role of Acting Regent of Langkat after receiving a decree from North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution. The handover of the decree took place at the Governor’s Office in Medan on Monday (6/7).
The appointment is stipulated in North Sumatra Governor’s Decree Number 100.1.2/5461/2026 concerning the assignment of the Vice Regent of Langkat to carry out the duties and authority of the regent. The decision was issued in reference to a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs Number 100.2.7/5031/SJ to ensure the effective and continuous running of governance in Langkat Regency.
Governor Bobby Nasution advised Tiorita to carry out this mandate with full responsibility. He stressed the importance of maintaining governmental stability and ensuring that all public services and development programmes continue to run optimally for the benefit of the community.
In response to the assignment, Tiorita Surbakti expressed her commitment to working with integrity and high dedication. She affirmed that the Langkat Regency Government would continue to uphold the principles of clean, transparent, and accountable governance in accordance with laws and regulations.
Surbakti also conveyed her concern over the legal situation currently faced by Langkat Regent Syah Afandin. She stated her respect for the ongoing legal process and deferred the handling of the matter entirely to law enforcement officials.
Surbakti assured that all priority development programmes and strategic regional agendas would not be disrupted. She called on all elements, from civil servants, the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, the Regional House of Representatives, to community leaders and the press, to strengthen synergy in order to maintain regional stability.
“We are ready to carry out this mandate with full responsibility. Together with all ranks of the Langkat Regency Government, we will continue to provide the best service and continue development to realise a progressive and prosperous Langkat,” she concluded.
