Tin and non-tin export value in Bangka Belitung falls by 30.95 per cent
Pangkalpinang (ANTARA) - The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for the Bangka Belitung Islands Province has announced that the export value of tin and non-tin commodities for April 2026 totalled 121.81 million US dollars, representing a 30.95 per cent decrease compared to April 2025, which stood at 176.41 million US dollars.
“The export value of tin during April this year was 87.06 million US dollars, a contraction of 39.87 per cent compared to the same month last year, which was 144.77 million US dollars,” stated the Head of BPS Bangka Belitung, Sugeng Arianto, in Pangkalpinang on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, exports of non-tin commodities in April 2026 reached 34.75 million US dollars, an increase of 9.82 per cent compared to April 2025’s 31.64 million US dollars.
He noted that tin from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province is primarily exported to Asian nations, with China serving as the main destination.
“From January to April this year, 49.40 per cent of tin exports were shipped to China, valued at 279.69 million US dollars, followed by South Korea at 13.21 per cent, India at 9.38 per cent, as well as Singapore and the Netherlands,” he said.
He stated that these five major destination countries accounted for 83.16 per cent of the total tin exports from the Bangka Belitung Islands Province to the rest of the world, with a total export value of 470.82 million US dollars from January to April 2026.
Comparing the period of January to April 2026 with January to April 2025 (year-on-year), there was a growth of 27.86 per cent in exports to the five largest tin-export destinations. South Korea and India grew by 19.61 per cent and 22.80 per cent, respectively.
Conversely, exports to Singapore and the Netherlands contracted by 58.60 per cent and 10.25 per cent. China recorded the highest growth rate at 99.71 per cent,” he added.
