Timwas: All Indonesian Pilgrims Arrive at Arafah as Wukuf Tests 2026 Hajj Service Readiness

MAKKAH – The peak phase of the 1447 AH/2026 CE Hajj has officially begun. All Indonesian Hajj pilgrims have arrived in Arafah ahead of the wukuf ritual on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

The successful mass mobilisation of pilgrims from Makkah to Arafah has been a key focus for the DPR RI Hajj Supervision Team (Timwas) amid this year’s complex Armuzna services.

DPR RI Timwas member Abdul Wachid reported this directly upon arriving at Maktab 51 in Arafah, Makkah, around 8:30 am local time. He confirmed the departure process was completed since the previous night.

“Alhamdulillah, we report that all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims arrived in Arafah last night, 100 percent,” Abdul Wachid said.

The confirmation of all pilgrims reaching Arafah is crucial as wukuf is a fundamental pillar of Hajj. During this phase, millions of pilgrims from various countries gather in Arafah almost simultaneously, requiring strict management of mobility, transportation, and services.

According to him, the wukuf rituals will commence after Zuhr prayer with the wukuf sermon, followed by the wukuf until evening before proceeding to Muzdalifah and Mina.

“Today, the wukuf will begin around midday with the sermon, followed by the wukuf until approximately 6pm,” said the Gerindra Party faction politician.

The Armuzna phase is known as the most critical part of Hajj organisation due to the mass movement of pilgrims in a short timeframe. Besides transportation readiness, tent services, food, healthcare, and crowd management are key factors determining the smoothness of the rituals.

Therefore, the DPR RI Timwas is conducting on-site monitoring at various service points and maktabs in Arafah to ensure all basic services proceed as planned.

Monitoring also focuses on preventing delays in pilgrim movement and potential congestion at transition points towards Muzdalifah and Mina.

After wukuf concludes, pilgrims are scheduled to move to Muzdalifah for overnight stay and pebble collection before proceeding to Mina for the stoning of the jamarat. “After that, we will proceed to Muzdalifah and Mina,” said the Deputy Chairman of DPR RI Commission VIII.

The successful movement of all pilgrims to Arafah is a key indicator of this year’s peak service readiness. However, monitoring will continue until the entire Armuzna phase concludes to ensure the safety, comfort, and smoothness of Indonesian pilgrims’ rituals.
