Timor honors Gen. Wismoyo

DILI, East Timor: Governor Abilio Jose Osorio Soares has named
Army Chief of Staff Gen. Wismoyo Arismunandar an honorary
customary leader.

The ceremony was highlighted with traditional dances and
martial arts on Thursday where senior local civilian and military
leaders were present.

Wismoyo is no stranger to East Timor because he once served as
the chief of staff of the Udayana Military command which covers
Bali, Nusa Tenggara and East Timor provinces

Wismoyo received a warm welcome from the East Timorese public,
Antara reported.

He said his appointment as a local customary leader underlined
the determination of East Timorese to integrate with Indonesia.
