The commotion about the (inexpensive) Timor national car,
which enjoys exemption from some duties and taxes in compliance
with the Presidential Instruction No.2/1996 has caused a great
concern.

All automotive entrepreneurs are deeply disappointed by this
ruling because the sales of their products will decline. On the
other hand, the general consumers enthusiastically welcomed the
President's policy, and they are looking forward to buying the
Timor cars.

The farmers have a different story to tell. Millions of
farmers feel that injustice has befallen them. The government is
reducing the subsidies for fertilizers while the price of
fertilizers increases every year.
