Timeline Revealed: Woman Held Captive for 3 Years Until Taufik Hidayat's Arrest
A woman with the initials YTR (29) was brutally abused and held captive by her boyfriend, Taufik Hidayat (30), for three years. Taufik Hidayat was finally arrested last night after being on the run. The confinement and abuse took place in a rented house in Cinunuk Village, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency, causing widespread shock and condemnation.
The case was uncovered on 12 June 2026 when the family received information via WhatsApp about YTR’s whereabouts. The message stated she was in the Emergency Department of Hasan Sadikin Hospital (RSHS) in Bandung. Upon arriving at the hospital, the family found the victim with severe injuries to her head, face, and legs, as well as minor injuries to her hands. The family had previously considered her missing for approximately three years. The family subsequently reported the case to the West Java Regional Police.
By 18 June 2026, the tragic condition of YTR was revealed. The 29-year-old woman had suffered severe injuries, including impaired vision, a cleft lip, difficulty speaking, and an inability to walk. Her sister, Melanie, reported that infected wounds on her head and face were still being cleaned of purulent fluid.
On 22 June 2026, the West Java Regional Police were actively pursuing Taufik Hidayat, who had fled when officers attempted to arrest him. The following day, he was officially placed on the wanted list (DPO). Police also requested that all parties refrain from questioning the victim directly, limiting communication to her family, doctors, and investigators.
Taufik Hidayat’s flight ended on 23 June 2026. Police detected his location through financial transactions he made in the Majalaya area of Bandung Regency. Investigations revealed he had initially fled West Java to Tangerang, believing it to be a safe location. Growing increasingly paranoid and suspicious of everyone, he returned to Bandung and hid at a relative’s house, which he thought was beyond the reach of law enforcement. He was ultimately apprehended in Majalaya.
On 24 June 2026, the West Java Regional Police placed Taufik in a special detention cell under strict 24-hour CCTV surveillance following his capture the previous night.
