Timeline of Shooting in Cilincing; Victim Was Buying Fried Rice

Jakarta, Indonesia – A shooting incident involving a 23-year-old man with initials SH in Cilincing, North Jakarta, on Sunday, 8 March 2026 evening, commenced when the victim was purchasing fried rice on Jalan Tipar Cakung.

At that moment, SH was approached by the perpetrator, identified as F, and his associates who were collecting a debt.

“(The perpetrators arrived on) two motorcycles, with four individuals in total,” stated Head of Cilincing Sector Police AKP Bobi Subasri when contacted by Kompas.com on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Bobi noted that SH attempted to resist, resulting in a physical altercation with the perpetrators.

“After they scuffled, and the perpetrator shot the victim with an airsoft gun,” Bobi explained.

As a result of the shooting, F was subsequently shouted at as a thief and mobbed by residents.

“(This was) because F demanded payment emotionally using an airsoft gun,” he stated.

Bobi remarked that when police arrived at the scene, F had already been transported to hospital by residents.

Meanwhile, as a result of the shooting, SH sustained injuries to his right leg, right lower back, and left knee.

To date, police continue to investigate the debt circumstances underpinning the incident. Police are also investigating the ownership of the airsoft gun.

However, based on the victim’s account, the altercation between him and the group of perpetrators is suspected to have been triggered by a debt of Rp 800,000 relating to marijuana purchase.

“Still under investigation. Being examined,” he added.
