Timeline of Seven-Vehicle Pile-Up Accident on Jakarta Outer Ring Road Toll
Jakarta — A pile-up involving seven vehicles occurred on the Jakarta Outer Ring Road toll section at kilometre 30 towards Pondok Pinang on Tuesday afternoon, 10 March 2026.
The Head of Traffic Investigation at Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters, AKBP Rieki Indra Brata Manggala, said that seven vehicles were initially travelling at normal speed in lane 2 towards Pondok Pinang.
Subsequently, a truck driven by F (26) experienced brake failure. As a result, F was unable to control the vehicle’s movement.
“The seventh vehicle experienced brake failure and collided with the sixth vehicle,” Rieki told Kompas.com on Tuesday.
The truck driven by F, which had lost control, then shifted into lane 1. Without control, the truck struck a BRV car in front of it, which then collided with a box truck.
“The seventh vehicle lost control, shifted to lane 1 and collided again with the second and first vehicles,” Rieki said.
Police officers together with toll road management evacuated the vehicles and witnesses, including two drivers who sustained minor injuries.
Subsequently, five vehicles involved in the accident were taken to East Jakarta Police Headquarters.
