Timeline of Malaysian Climber's Fall on Mount Rinjani

Malaysian climber Chye Connsynn (41) fell on Mount Rinjani in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The management of Mount Rinjani National Park (TNGR) detailed the timeline of the accident involving the woman.

Ma’ruf Hadi, Head of the National Park Management Section (SPTN) TNGR for East Lombok, stated that Connsynn initially climbed via the Sembalun trail entrance on Sunday, 24 May 2026, and began descending the following day, Monday, 25 May 2026.

However, Connsynn suffered an accident around 3:39 PM WITA. ‘The victim fell near the ridge along the climbing route while descending from the summit,’ Ma’ruf said on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

After the incident, Connsynn was unable to stand, so porters and guides carried her to Pelawangan Camp in Sembalun. The evacuation was hindered by weather conditions, necessitating helicopter transport.

‘The helicopter attempted to approach the location, but thick fog made it impossible,’ Ma’ruf added.
