BEKASI – Five petrol station workers became victims of violence when a gang of robbers broke into a safe containing sales revenue at petrol station 34.17604 in Kebalen Village, Babelan District, Bekasi Regency, on Tuesday, 10 March 2026 at approximately 03:30 local time.
The Metro Bekasi Police Chief, Sumarni, stated that one of the victims, identified as M (62), suffered injuries to his left hand after attempting to resist the perpetrators.
“Victim M attempted to resist before ultimately being bound with black tape,” Sumarni said when asked for confirmation on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, another victim identified as B (49) suffered violence in the form of kicks and punches.
Sumarni revealed that the gang of suspected four individuals brought various equipment to carry out their operation.
Officers who conducted the crime scene investigation discovered a toy pistol, black tape, cable, and a ladder allegedly used by the perpetrators to enter through the rear section of the petrol station.

Approximately 30 minutes later, the gang fled the scene.
As a result of the incident, sales revenue stored in the safe was reported missing.
Babelan Police Chief Wito estimated the money taken by the perpetrators to be between 100 million and 130 million rupiah.
“The estimated amount taken is around 100 million to 130 million rupiah. That was sales revenue in the safe. There was nothing else,” said Wito.
“So the CCTV was damaged by them, the DVR,” he added.
To date, police continue their investigation to identify the perpetrators and trace their whereabouts.
“There has been a report filed. And we have inspected the crime scene. We continue our investigation to uncover this case,” said Wito.
