Police have revealed the timeline of events surrounding the discovery of a man named Antonius Nana (47), whose remains were found in a forest in Kampung Baru, Dusun Aitiris B, Meotroi Village, Laenmanen District, Malaka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), with only his skull remaining.

Malaka Police Chief, AKBP Riki Ganjar Gumilar, said the incident began when a resident with the initials BB visited Antonius’s house to inquire about his whereabouts on Monday, May 11, 2026, at around 08:00 local time. However, only Antonius’s wife, Leonarda Belak, was at home at the time.

Leonarda told BB that her husband had left the house on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at around 21:00 local time after the couple had an argument. The argument started when Antonius cut open a sack of corn. After the incident, Antonius immediately left the house.

Because he did not return home, the family filed a missing person report with the Laenmanen Police. After several days of searching, Antonius was finally found in a terrible condition in the Kalalaran river area, Meotroi Village, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at around 13:30 local time.

“After receiving the report, police officers conducted a search with the help of local residents. The victim had been missing from home since April 28, 2026, and when he was found, only his skull remained,” Riki told detikBali on Friday, May 15, 2026.

However, Riki declined to explain the series of events involving three men, namely YDA, ADN, and AN, as suspects in the murder of Antonius.

“This cannot be revealed yet because the investigation is still ongoing,” said Riki.

Previously, residents were shocked by the discovery of a human skull in the forest in Meotroi Village, Laenmanen District, Malaka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The human skull was later identified as belonging to a murder victim.

“That’s right, he is suspected of being a victim of a criminal act of murder,” said Malaka Police Chief AKBP Riki Ganjar Gumilar to detikBali on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
