The car was driven by a man from Sidoarjo Regency, East Java, with the initials HM (25).
“Before the traffic accident occurred, the car driven by HM was travelling from north to south on Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta,” Reynold told reporters at the Metro Tanah Abang Police Station, Wednesday night.
The vehicle then turned left onto Jalan Gunung Sahari IV and continued to Jalan Bungur Besar Raya heading north to Jalan Gunung Sahari V.
The car then turned left, driving against traffic on Jalan Gunung Sahari V heading east towards the Menara Bidakara Alfa Land (MBAL) traffic light intersection, and continued on Jalan Dr. Sutomo heading east.
“Upon arriving near the Bintang Baru Hotel, the vehicle turned around heading west, returning to the MBAL traffic light intersection. It then turned left onto Jalan Gunung Sahari heading north,” Reynold said.
“The car then arrived at the Pintu Besi traffic light intersection. It then turned around, driving against traffic on Jalan Gunung Sahari heading south until it stopped near the Golden Truly bus stop,” he continued.
The car finally stopped due to the mob of road users and drivers.
The vehicle and the driver, along with one female passenger, were then taken to the Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police Station.
“For now, the suspected cause of the accident is still under investigation. There were no fatalities as a result of this incident,” he added.
