Timeline of Dental Nurse Stabbing Incident in Tangerang

TANGERANG – A dental nurse with the initials P was summoned to the bathroom before being stabbed by a patient identified as MA at Total Persada housing estate in Periuk, Tangerang.

Jatiuwung Police Chief Kompol Rabiin said the incident began when the suspect, a new patient, arrived to have his dental calculus removed on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

‘The doctor explained that the suspect was a new patient who came for dental treatment and calculus cleaning,’ Rabiin told Kompas.com via WhatsApp on Monday, 1 June 2026.

Shortly after, MA entered the clinic’s bathroom. From inside, the suspect called the nurse.

‘The suspect went to the bathroom and called ’Miss, come here,’ prompting the nurse to enter. As soon as she entered, he stabbed her,’ he explained.

As a result of the attack, the victim sustained injuries to her abdomen and hand.

The victim is currently receiving treatment at Tangerang Regency General Hospital.

‘The victim is still under treatment. An afternoon check-up showed her condition is improving,’ he added.

The incident caused a commotion among local residents, prompting them to report it to Jatiuwung Police Station.

Several hours later, the suspect was arrested and taken to Jatiuwung Police Station for further questioning.

During questioning, the suspect admitted bringing a knife from home, but the motive for the stabbing is still under investigation.

According to Rabiin, police have yet to confirm the suspect’s motive as the investigation is ongoing.

‘Whether he was angry, felt pain during treatment, or had another reason, we are still investigating. Our focus now is determining the motive,’ he said.

‘We don’t know yet; we can’t confirm anything. If there’s a history, it will be determined by a psychiatrist, not based on hearsay,’ he added.
