Timeline of a student fatally assaulting his older brother in North Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The North Jakarta Police have revealed the timeline of a 16-year-old student, MAH, fatally assaulting his 22-year-old brother, MAR, in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta, on Tuesday afternoon (24/2).
“The perpetrator is suspected of repeatedly hitting the victim’s head with a hammer because he was very emotional. As a result, the victim collapsed,” said the Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the North Jakarta Police, Kompol Ni Luh Sri Arsin in Jakarta, Thursday.
After the victim fell, she said, the perpetrator continued to hit the victim’s head, even up to five times. At the time of the incident, the victim was still alive because he was still making sounds.
“However, the victim died on the way to the hospital,” said Sri.
She said the perpetrator was desperate to carry out the action because there were family problems and the perpetrator felt jealous because his brother was more favored by his mother.
“Whatever his brother wanted was always granted by his parents,” she said.
The toiletries were not immediately moved and when his mother reprimanded the victim, he ignored it, which made the perpetrator unhappy.
“That was the trigger for the perpetrator to get angry and take a hammer from the kitchen. Then, he hit his older brother who was feeding the pets,” she said.
Previously, a 16-year-old student with the initials MAH was arrested by the police for allegedly hitting his own brother in the head with a hammer until he died in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon (24/2).
“We are still conducting an investigation and delving into the real motive of the perpetrator to the point of carrying out such a heinous act against his brother, MAR (22),” said Sri, Wednesday (25/2).
