Timeline of a Gang Stealing an Expedition Van in South Jakarta
Police have explained the timeline of the theft of an expedition van on Jalan Joe, Jagakarsa District, South Jakarta. The perpetrators are suspected to be four individuals.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (February 25th, 2026) at around 04:45 WIB in the early hours of the morning. Initially, there were employees inside the expedition warehouse.
“However, at around 03:15 WIB, one of the employees left to go home to have sahur (pre-dawn meal),” said Jagakarsa Police Chief, Kompol Nurma Dewi.
She said that the van was last left in an unlocked state. The driver’s side window was also open.
“It is suspected that the perpetrators entered the warehouse terrace through the gate because the gate was not locked,” she explained.
Then, two of the perpetrators entered the warehouse yard. Meanwhile, the other two were on guard on a motorcycle.
“After that, the perpetrators easily opened the van door and started the van, allegedly using a fake key,” she added.
The perpetrators then drove away with the van, which was originally parked. The victim then reported the theft to the police.
“The perpetrators are under investigation,” she said.

Previously, the incident went viral on social media. The perpetrators are said to be four individuals.
In the video, the incident is said to have occurred in the early hours of the morning. The van was stolen from a store yard.
In the video, three people are seen entering the store yard. One person is seen taking over the steering wheel, while the other two open the store gate.
It didn’t take long for the perpetrator who took over the steering wheel to drive away with the van. The other perpetrators were also seen fleeing on a motorcycle.
