Time limit for New Year shows

JAKARTA (JP): The city administration has decided that all New
Year's Eve shows with special permits must end at 4 a.m.

An official of the city public order office, Toha Reno, said
holders of the temporary permits should start their shows at 7
p.m.

Toha said discotheques, karaoke bars and restaurants which do
not obtain the temporary permits are obliged to run regular shows
until 3 p.m. Regular operation for massage parlors is until 11
p.m.

Entertainment centers which are caught violating the
regulation will be closed down for one month, Toha said, adding
that those which increase their door prices arbitrarily will be
fined.

"Entertainment centers found featuring striptease dances or
other erotic shows will be closed down for good," he said.

Based on a Governor's Instruction No. 417/1995, the special
ticket prices for the shows offered by entertainment centers on
New Year's Eve 1995/1996 range from Rp 200,000 to Rp 750,000
