NEW YORK (AP): Time magazine has won an award from the Overseas Press Club for its coverage of Indonesia and East Timor.

Photographer John Stanmeyer, working through Saba Press Photos for Time magazine, was honored in the category of best photographic reporting requiring exceptional courage for the images he captured of Indonesian Police killing an independence supporter in East Timor.
The Associated Press also received an award for its Pulitzer Prize-winning story on an alleged massacre by U.S. troops during the Korean War.
AP's president and CEO Louis D. Boccardi also received the club's President's Award for lifetime achievement.
In announcing the awards on Thursday, the club cited Boccardi's success in moving the news cooperative into television and digital photography and his leadership on freedom of information and First Amendment issues.
