Timber theft near Malaysian border

BALIKPAPAN, East Kalimantan: Six Malaysians and three
Indonesians have been arrested for timber theft.

East Kalimantan Police spokesman Lt. Col. P. Sumarno said they
were caught stealing timber in Simanggaris, Bulungan, 10
kilometers from the Malaysian border.

He said police also confiscated several vehicles and heavy
logging machinery as evidence.

All nine are now being held at Tarakan Police station for
questioning. (42)
