JAKARTA – PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk has once again achieved a proud milestone in environmental management by securing the PROPER Gold and Green awards in the PROPER assessment for the 2024–2025 period from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry / Environment Control Agency.

The PROPER Gold was awarded to PT TIMAH Division Processing & Refinery Mentok and was presented by the Minister of Environment and Forestry / Environment Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, to the Deputy Director of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, Harry Budi Sidharta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

The PROPER (Company Performance Rating Programme in Environmental Management) award is an appreciation from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry / Environment Control Agency to companies deemed successful in implementing sustainable environmental management and delivering positive impacts to society.

In addition to the PROPER Gold, PT TIMAH also received PROPER Green for PT TIMAH Division Processing & Refinery Kundur and Division Engineering Operation Excellent (Balai Karya).

The Minister of Environment and Forestry / Environment Control Agency, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, stated that the government, through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Environment Control Agency, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening supervision and law enforcement in the environmental sector.

Furthermore, the government emphasises that PROPER is not merely an assessment forum for company performance but also a vital instrument in promoting national environmental resilience. The business actors present are seen as having a strategic role in preserving environmental sustainability in Indonesia.

In line with President Prabowo Subianto’s directives, the government has established the Environment Control Agency through Presidential Regulation Number 183 of 2024. This policy strengthens the central government’s role in supervision, control, and law enforcement in the environmental sector.

In 2026, the implementation of PROPER will undergo significant transformation. The assessment will not only focus on ranking but will also become part of a comprehensive supervision system for corporate environmental compliance.

On this occasion, he expressed appreciation to the companies that successfully achieved PROPER rankings, whether blue, green, or gold. These rankings are viewed as reflections of compliance and tangible contributions from the business world in safeguarding the environment.

Nevertheless, the government reminds that such achievements must be maintained and improved. PROPER is not just a symbol but a representation of genuine commitment to environmental sovereignty.

“We hope companies can maintain and even enhance their performance. Once again, this is not a matter of symbolism; it is a matter of our environmental sovereignty. We must not squander the trust bestowed through the assessments conducted by the Ministry of Environment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Director of PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk, Harry Budi Sidharta, stated that this PROPER award serves as motivation for the company to continuously improve its environmental performance while strengthening sustainable mining practices.

“PT TIMAH is committed to always conducting operational activities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including environmental management and community empowerment in the company’s operational areas,” said Harry.

Harry added that PT TIMAH continues to strengthen environmental management efforts through various initiatives such as eco-innovations in the company’s business processes and social innovations through the Nusantara Guardians programme, which integrates environmental aspects.

“PT TIMAH will continue to strengthen collaboration with the government, society, and stakeholders to support the creation of a balance between business activities and environmental preservation. Compliance with environmental aspects is not only an obligation but also a collective effort to support business sustainability and community welfare,” he concluded.
