North Jakarta – A tilted electricity pole on Jalan Krapu in Pademangan is leaning toward the road, residents said on Friday 6 March 2026. The pole stands directly in front of the Stasiun Pompa Pasar Ikan (Ikan Market Pump Station). The utility cables attached to the pole also appear untidy, with several cables wrapped around the pole. The leaning pole causes the cables to hang over the street, and one severed cable dangles in the middle of Jalan Krapu. That severed cable frequently comes into contact with loads carried by passing container trucks.

Pian, 30, a local resident, said the pole has not been repaired by authorities. ‘That pole has been like that for a long time. It’s dangerous because it leans toward the road,’ he told Kompas.com at the scene on Friday. The number of container trucks passing along Jalan Krapu makes him worry that a dangling cable could snag. ‘Just yesterday I saw a vehicle coming here; it was barely able to pass, so I told him to reverse—container trucks,’ he added. Arifin, 43, another resident, shared similar concerns that the leaning pole and cables toward the road could injure drivers. ‘Especially at night, when container trucks tend to travel close to the edge. I’m worried that if the driver doesn’t notice, the pole could be pulled,’ he said.
