Executive Director of Tokopedia and TikTok E-commerce Indonesia, Stephanie Susilo, has denied reports of layoffs at TikTok or the Tokopedia Group. She asserted that the company is currently only carrying out workforce restructuring and internal mobility. The statement was made by Stephanie after attending a coordination meeting with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Minister of Manpower Yassierli at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Monday (6/7/2026). “There are several points I would like to convey. The first is that there are no layoffs at the TikTok or Tokopedia group,” Stephanie said. According to her, the company is undertaking an organisational restructuring accompanied by the transfer of employees to other business units within the group. “What is happening is a workforce restructuring that we are carrying out, and internal mobility within the TikTok or Tokopedia Group,” she continued. Stephanie explained that during this restructuring process, the company provided several options to affected employees. Some chose to accept a compensation package and pursue careers elsewhere, while others were transferred to different positions within the TikTok Tokopedia group business. “In this restructuring programme, there are indeed those who have chosen to take a compensation package and choose to work elsewhere, or be channelled within the TikTok Tokopedia group business environment,” she said. In contrast, she stated that the company is currently opening 100 job vacancies spread across Indonesia. “We are also currently recruiting for more than 100 positions in Indonesia. This is what we are conveying to clarify the news circulating in the community,” she said.
