TikTok Opens Over 100 Job Vacancies Amid Tokopedia Mass Layoff Issue

President Director of TikTok Indonesia, Stephanie Susilo, has revealed that TikTok and Tokopedia are currently opening hundreds of job vacancies. This statement was made following a meeting with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Minister of Manpower Yassierli at the Parliament Complex in Central Jakarta on Monday, 6 July 2026. “We are currently recruiting for more than 100 positions in Indonesia,” Stephanie stated during a press conference. Meanwhile, Minister Yassierli noted that the opening of over 100 positions by TikTok and Tokopedia demonstrates that the company continues to grow. “We are confident that this also presents an opportunity for the nation’s youth to secure employment in the positions offered by the TikTok Group,” he explained. The meeting addressed the issue of mass layoffs (PHK) occurring at Tokopedia. However, Stephanie denied that the company was conducting layoffs. According to her, the company is merely undertaking a workforce restructuring. “There are no layoffs at TikTok or Tokopedia Group. What is happening is a workforce restructuring that we are carrying out, along with internal mobility within the TikTok or Tokopedia Group,” she said.
