TikTok Launches Ad-Free Subscription Package, Here's the Price
TikTok has officially launched an ad-free subscription service called TikTok Ad-Free in the UK on Monday (11/5/2026) local time. Through this service, users can pay £3.99 per month (approximately Rp90,000) to use TikTok without ads while also disabling data tracking for personalised advertising. This step positions TikTok to follow in the footsteps of Meta, which previously introduced ad-free packages for Instagram and Facebook in Europe and the UK. Users will subsequently receive a pop-up prompting them to choose. TikTok states that this service goes beyond merely removing ads from the user’s For You Page (FYP) tab. Subscribed users will no longer have their data tracked for ad targeting purposes. However, users can still view sponsored content from creators, such as endorsement videos or posts marked “#ad”. TikTok describes the service as a way to give users more choices regarding their experience on the app. “We believe that giving our community choices about how they enjoy TikTok is one of the best ways to support discovery, connection, and inspiration,” said TikTok. It should be noted that this ad-free subscription package does not include any special features. Therefore, nothing changes in the TikTok scrolling experience, except for the absence of the usual ad videos that appear at the start when opening the app and between FYP videos. Previously, Meta faced a legal challenge from British human rights activist Tanya O’Carroll regarding the use of personal data for targeted ads. That case ultimately led Meta to agree on a new system with UK regulators that allows users to opt out of using their personal data for advertising. Meta had previously implemented a similar model in the European Union through an ad-free subscription package. Now, TikTok is adopting the same approach.
