TikTok GO by Tokopedia promotes culinary services through creative content
Jakarta (ANTARA) - TikTok is introducing TikTok GO by Tokopedia to connect users with various local food and beverage services through content, searches, and live broadcasts.
Lead of Key Merchant TikTok GO by Tokopedia William Panjaitan stated that the emergence of the TikTok GO by Tokopedia service stems from changes in societal behaviour, where people increasingly rely on digital platforms to find culinary references and local destinations.
“Even today, TikTok has become a platform widely used to discover places to eat and drink in Indonesia,” said William during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.
William explained that around 65% of Indonesians now rely on digital platforms as their primary reference for choosing food and beverages. According to him, this trend indicates significant opportunities in Indonesia’s local services sector, particularly in food and beverages.
Currently, he continued, there are approximately 5.28 million food and beverage businesses in Indonesia. This growth aligns with the 25 million micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that have joined digital platforms to expand market reach and improve business operations.
Users can then proceed to the Point of Interest (POI) feature, which serves as a bridge between users and purchasing channels.
“This is what we call a one-stop experience that connects inspiration, transactions, and direct visits from online to offline,” he said.
In Indonesia, William noted that the usage of the service shows positive trends since its introduction. Searches for local services have increased by more than 60% annually. Additionally, daily orders from merchants providing dine-in services have risen up to 20 times.
From the content creators’ side, participation growth on TikTok GO by Tokopedia has also increased significantly, by more than 12 times.
“This demonstrates that collaboration between creators, merchants, and the platform can create mutually reinforcing growth,” he stated.
By 2026, TikTok GO by Tokopedia aims to support up to 70,000 merchants in Indonesia to grow optimally through traffic subsidies, product subsidies, creator access, and exclusive campaigns utilising live broadcasts.
“This support will focus on several key aspects, including traffic subsidies to enhance visibility, product subsidies to make offerings more competitive, access to creator resources to strengthen content strategies, and exclusive campaigns leveraging live stream features to encourage organic interactions between merchants and users,” said William.
