Tighter Rules, Rising Investment Interest in Futures Exchange?
The Indonesian government is increasing supervision and regulation of Futures Exchange Trading (PBK) through the inclusion of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia as authorised institutions in PBK transactions. Handal Semesta Berjangka Compliance Director Wulan Pondaag assessed that the tightening of regulations in Futures Exchange Trading will have a positive impact in the long term because it will encourage market confidence, thereby further increasing investment interest. Strengthening policies on the Futures Exchange is needed to improve the positive image marred by ‘disruptions’ and various fraudulent schemes from illegal brokers.
