Tight Security at Parliament Complex: Armoured Vehicles and Helicopters Deployed for Annual Session

Security at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, has been tightened during the Annual Session of the MPR RI and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI on Friday (14/8/2026).

CNBC Indonesia observed a number of security personnel on guard at various access points leading to the Parliament Complex. Checks on vehicles and people entering the area have also been intensified.

Inside the complex, a number of tactical vehicles, including armoured personnel carriers and Barracuda vehicles, have been placed on standby.

Two presidential helicopters and an Indonesian Air Force helicopter have also been placed on standby at the football field within the Parliament Complex.

The heightened security measures are in place because the state agenda will be attended by President Prabowo Subianto, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, leaders of state institutions, members of the DPR and DPD, as well as a number of invited guests.

Security personnel have also been deployed on several roads around the complex to anticipate traffic congestion and ensure smooth mobility throughout the series of events.
