Tight Schedule Against PSBS, PSIM Coach Calls it a Difficult Moment

PSIM Jogja will be hosted by PSBS Biak in the 23rd week of the Super League 2025/2026 tomorrow. The Mataram squad only has a short preparation period ahead of the match.

The match between PSBS Biak and PSIM Jogja will take place at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, on Friday (27/2/2026). Kick-off is at 20:30 WIB.

PSIM faces several challenges ahead of facing PSBS. In addition to not having won in the last five matches, PSIM also only has three days to prepare for tomorrow’s match.

PSIM coach, Jean-Paul van Gastel, predicts that the match will be difficult for his team.

“Our preparation is quite short. Regarding the condition of the players, we have to monitor it further because we only have one day for recovery,” said Van Gastel during a press conference at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Thursday (26/2/2026).

“Clearly, the time is very short, and after this match, there will be another match in a short period. So this will be a difficult moment for us,” he continued.

Van Gastel also does not want to underestimate PSBS even though in the last meeting PSIM managed to win. According to him, PSBS will appear differently under their new coach, Marian Mihail.

“When there is a new coach, there is always new energy, the players feel like they are getting a new opportunity. Their playing style has not actually changed,” he said.

“However, their position is the same as Persijap Jepara in the standings. So for them, every match now is very important to stay away from the relegation zone,” he revealed.

PSIM defender, Yusaku Yamadera, expressed a similar sentiment. Even though the preparation time is tight, he hopes to win their first match in this second round.

“Actually, we don’t have time to do technical preparations on the field for this match. But we have held a team meeting, we know what to do and what needs to be improved. So we are ready to win this match,” he said.
