'Tifa' reporters still on strike
JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: Journalists from the local weekly Tifa continued their strike yesterday. The publication has been closed since the second week of September.
A journalist from the weekly, Anthon Kelangename, said one of their demands was the removal of chief editor Bill Retob, whom they accuse of mismanagement.
Antara reported that the head of the Irian Jaya branch of the Indonesian Journalist Association, Usman Fakaubun, said that the strike is an internal dispute. He recommended that it be settled between the weekly's journalists and management. (mds)
