Ticket Price Hike Does Not Affect Visits to Ulun Danu Beratan
The policy of adjusting ticket prices for the Ulun Danu Beratan tourist destination in Baturiti District, Tabanan, which came into effect on 1 July 2026, has not had a significant impact on visitor numbers. During the recent school holidays, the level of visits remained stable and even increased compared to regular days.
“The recent school holiday period had a positive impact on tourist visits. During that period, the number of tourists coming increased significantly compared to ordinary days,” said Ulun Danu Beratan Public Relations, Agus Teja Saputra, on Friday (17/6/2026).
Agus detailed the ticket price increases for Ulun Danu Beratan, with adult domestic tourist tickets rising from Rp40,000 to Rp50,000 and children’s domestic tickets from Rp20,000 to Rp25,000. Meanwhile, adult foreign tourist tickets increased from Rp75,000 to Rp100,000 and children’s tickets from Rp50,000 to Rp75,000.
Agus explained that the ticket increase policy had been socialised several months prior. As a result, visitor enthusiasm remained high during the holiday season, particularly among domestic tourists.
“The average number of visits during the school holidays reached around 2,000 to 2,500 people per day. This figure is an increase compared to before the holiday period, which was only around 1,000 to 1,500 visitors per day,” Agus Teja explained.
The composition of arriving tourists was also relatively balanced, with the percentage of foreign tourists and domestic tourists almost 50:50. For domestic tourists, visitors from East Java and Yogyakarta dominated during the school holiday period.
Agus Teja revealed that the peak of domestic tourist visits generally occurs during the Eid holiday, year-end holidays, and school holidays such as those taking place from June to July. “After that period ends, domestic tourist visits are expected to return to normal,” he explained.
On the other hand, foreign tourist visits are predicted to peak in the coming August to September. To date, tourists from India remain the largest contributors to visits.
In addition to the school holiday momentum, the Gebogan and Baleganjur Festival was also considered successful in increasing tourist interest. The festival, which runs for two months from 21 June to 9 August 2026, offers a cultural experience that can not only be watched but also directly participated in by visitors.
“One of the most popular activities is arranging gebogan. The management provides a special area for tourists to try arranging gebogan directly so they can get to know Balinese traditions and culture more closely,” said Agus.
