PT Pertamina (Persero) is safeguarding the national energy supply, particularly during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026, through a range of measures to reinforce the energy supply such as fuel (BBM) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The monitoring is conducted closely through Pertamina Digital Hub, Pertamina’s integrated system for energy supply surveillance and control from upstream to downstream. Pertamina Digital Hub is also a strategy to maintain energy stock levels so that supply remains consistently available at all times.

Vice President Corporate Communication PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, explained that high-tech utilisation is one of the ways Pertamina manages energy in real time. The Hub is connected to all Pertamina businesses, so all activities and processes are monitored clearly. ‘We have access to data and surveillance cameras, even the movement of assets every second,’ Baron said in a press release.

Upstream operations are ensured to run to standard so that the operational targets of each entity can be maintained. In the downstream sector, Pertamina can monitor vessel movements carrying products or crude oil, or projected arrivals for procurement of products or crude, to be processed at six Pertamina refineries. Domestic refinery optimisation continues to support national energy resilience.

High-tech usage also helps Pertamina monitor product availability at sales outlets, such as BBM at fuel filling stations (SPBU). Pertamina can monitor tanker crews during distribution to SPBU, up to stock levels at each SPBU.

‘Through a single integrated dashboard, Pertamina can identify BBM and LPG consumption movements in each region, enabling anticipatory action if demand rises, extreme weather occurs, or global dynamics potentially affect energy supply chains,’ Baron said.

Baron added that Pertamina’s digital transformation is key to maintaining energy supply stability. ‘Government reserve references act as a security threshold that must always be maintained. As long as distribution and supply operate normally, stocks continue to move, so Pertamina keeps reserves above the minimum level. This is a risk mitigation measure and a commitment by Pertamina in maintaining energy resilience,’ he explained.
