Through "Minister's Greeting," Kemendikdasmen Strengthens Student Literacy
Great people are not those who never fall, but those who can learn from every experience that has happened within them. Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) is strengthening the character and digital literacy of students through a digital forum titled “Pak Menteri Menyapa”. The event, themed “Educational and Quality Student Holidays”, serves as a productive dialogue space between ministry leaders and approximately 4,000 students from communities and student organisations across Indonesia. Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti addressed the enthusiastic students in Jakarta on Thursday, despite it being holiday time. Mendikdasmen emphasised that Indonesia’s face in 2045 will be determined by the quality of human resources (HR) and the character of the current young generation. Therefore, Mendikdasmen encouraged students to instil a growth mindset or growth-oriented thinking in their daily lives. He also invited students to start major changes through consistent small steps, in line with principles for building positive habits. During the event series, Secretary General (Sekjen) of Kemendikdasmen Suharti affirmed that the forum embodies the ministry’s commitment to maintaining closeness with students as the primary subjects of education. “This activity aims to increase students’ understanding of priority programmes, listen to their aspirations, and provide inspiration for our young generation,” said Suharti. Suharti also stated that the forum is an important medium for presenting government strategic policy achievements. One of them is the Gerakan 7 Kebiasaan Anak Indonesia Hebat (7 KAIH), a character strengthening programme through seven positive behaviours, from waking up early to going to bed early. Another programme is the digitalisation of learning through the distribution of Interactive Digital Boards (PID), with hundreds of thousands of PID to be distributed to various educational units by February 2026 to support adaptive learning transformation. Furthermore, equitable access to education through the optimisation of the Indonesia Pintar Programme (PIP) and Secondary Education Affirmation Scholarship (ADEM) to ensure educational access for students from low-income families and 3T areas.
