Driven by the need to supplement her family’s income, Mutoharoh, the owner of the women’s handbag and wallet business Biru Tsabita, has shared her success story in running the enterprise.

By relying on designs that are both attractive and functional, the business from Pemalang, Central Java, has gradually succeeded in expanding its market reach to various regions across Indonesia.

Before starting out, however, she had been trapped in considerable debt, such that her existing income was insufficient to meet daily needs.

“From there, we tried to look for side jobs, and our choice fell on selling online, which could be done in between our work routines. Alhamdulillah, the online business has continued to grow until now,” said Mutoharoh, quoted on Wednesday (15/7/2026).

Since its founding in 2019, Biru Tsabita has offered a wide range of handbags and women’s wallets to a growing market. Among the various products it produces, women’s wallets are among the most sought-after by customers. Marketing is carried out through marketplaces and partnerships, reaching various regions across Indonesia, and has even extended as far as Malaysia.

In addition to ready-to-sell products, Biru Tsabita also handles custom-made bags and wallets tailored to customers’ needs. Along the way, the company’s development has been bolstered through mentoring from Rumah BUMN BRI.

Mutoharoh said the mentoring had helped deepen her knowledge while opening up networks of relationships supporting the business’s growth. As the business developed, Biru Tsabita has come to involve 33 workers.

“All the training provided by Rumah BUMN BRI has been very helpful to us, especially the BRIncubator BRI 2025 Programme, which so far has been the most beneficial for our business development,” she explained.

To support operations and sales, Mutoharoh also makes use of BRImo and QRIS BRI. Going forward, she aims to expand the business network by strengthening its marketplace and partnership channels so that Biru Tsabita’s market reach grows ever wider.

BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny said Biru Tsabita’s journey shows that a business started from limitations can grow when run with sincerity and a willingness to keep learning.

He said Biru Tsabita demonstrates that a thriving business that provides livelihoods can emerge from hardship.

“Through Rumah BUMN, BRI wants to accompany more MSME actors so that they have room to learn, expand their markets, and go further with ever stronger businesses,” he concluded.
