Three youths apologise after throwing firecrackers at minibus drivers in Cipondoh
TANGERANG – Three youths with initials DA (20), RDS (16), and UPT (21), who threw firecrackers at minibus (angkot) drivers in Cipondoh, Tangerang, have apologised to the victims.
The case was resolved amicably after both parties were brought together at the Metro Tangerang City Police station on Thursday (26 February 2026).
“The perpetrators acknowledged their mistake and have apologised to the victims and the public,” said Kasat Reskrim (Head of Criminal Investigation) of Metro Tangerang City Police, AKBP Parikhesit, in a statement on Friday (27 February 2026).
Following the apology, both parties agreed to settle the matter peacefully and drew up a joint agreement.
“Both parties have agreed to resolve this case amicably with the creation of a joint written agreement,” he said.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (24 February 2026) at approximately 2:00 AM on Jalan Maulana Hasanudin, Cipondoh Village, Cipondoh District, Tangerang City.
The youths initially displayed a handful of red firecrackers and posted images on social media. They then carried out their actions on a motorcycle.
Riding three to a motorbike, they threw the firecrackers randomly at several minibus drivers.
“According to their account, they were just fooling around; there was no particular motivation,” Parikhesit explained.
Although the incident went viral on social media, Parikhesit noted that no formal report was made regarding the matter.
However, police facilitated a meeting between the youths and the minibus drivers at Metro Tangerang City Police station, which concluded peacefully.
