Three workers have died in an excavation or culvert project in the Cipayung area of East Jakarta. The victims were found deceased by their colleagues. Cipayung Police Chief Kompol Saut Parulian Tobing confirmed the three fatalities. The victims were discovered at 10.20 a.m. local time and were immediately evacuated. The workers had entered the culvert to inspect and clean a drilled well. The cause of death remains unknown, and the bodies have been taken to the Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, for identification. Fire and rescue officials received a request for evacuation at 9.49 a.m. and deployed 12 rescue personnel to the scene in Bambu Apus, Cipayung. According to the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, the incident unfolded when one worker lost consciousness while descending a ladder inside the culvert. A colleague entered to help but also fainted, followed by a third worker who suffered the same fate. The evacuation of the three victims was completed by 11.55 a.m., and the authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
