Three West Java Police Officers in Alphard HI Incident Face Ethical Sanctions After Clash with Security Guard

The driver and passengers of a Toyota Alphard that forced its way through a pelican crossing in the HI Roundabout area of Central Jakarta have been identified as three members of the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar).

The traffic violation also led to an altercation with an MRT security guard named Fiktor Harefa (27), as well as allegations of intimidation.

Head of Public Relations at Polda Jabar, Police Grand Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, said the three drivers and passengers of the Alphard — Ipda DG, Bripka BS and Briptu RPW — would face police ethics sanctions even though both parties had reached a peaceful settlement.

“The reconciliation between the parties does not erase the code of conduct sanctions against the three of them, namely Ipda DG, Bripka BS and Briptu RPW,” said Hendra, quoted from the Instagram account @propam_jabar.

Hendra said the three had been questioned by the Professional Standards Division (Propam) of Polda Jabar. The examination found that all three were proven to have committed violations.

“Sufficient evidence was found that they violated the police professional code of ethics as stipulated in Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022, and the case will proceed through the ethics process and the National Police professional ethics tribunal,” he explained.

Hendra said Polda Jabar is committed and consistent in taking firm and transparent action against any violations committed by its members.

Hendra also conveyed an apology to security guard Fiktor for the arrogant behaviour of the officers.

“We extend our apologies to Mr Fiktor, a security guard in the HI Roundabout area, for the improper actions committed by three members of the West Java Regional Police,” he said.
