Three West Java Police Officers in Alphard HI Incident Face Ethical Sanctions After Clash with Security Guard

The driver and passengers of a Toyota Alphard that illegally entered the Bundaran HI area in Central Jakarta and became involved in a dispute with a security guard are three members of the West Java Regional Police (Polda Jabar). The traffic violation escalated into a confrontation with MRT security guard Fiktor Harefa, with allegations of intimidation. Head of Public Relations for Polda Jabar, Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan, stated that the three individuals, identified as Ipda DG, Bripka BS, and Briptu RPW, will face police ethical sanctions despite both parties having reached a peace agreement. “The peace agreement between the parties does not eliminate the ethical sanctions for the three, namely Ipda DG, Bripka BS, and Briptu RPW,” Hendra said, as quoted from the Instagram account @propam_jabar. Hendra confirmed that the three had been examined by the Professional and Internal Security Division (Propam) of Polda Jabar, and the investigation found sufficient evidence of a violation of the professional code of ethics as stipulated in National Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022. The case will proceed to a professional ethics hearing. Hendra emphasised that Polda Jabar is committed to taking firm action against any violations by its members and issued an apology for the arrogant behaviour displayed by the officers towards security guard Fiktor.
