BANDUNG, West Java: The government has downgraded the status of three volcanoes in the country from alert to normal.
Akmad Djumarna, director of the Volcanology and Geology Disaster Mitigation Office, said in Bandung on Friday that the three volcanoes were Mt. Kerinci and Mt. Tangkubanperahu in West Java, and Mt. Merapi in Central Java.
However, Mt. Semeru in East Java and Mt. Krakatau in Banten are among those still on alert status, he said.
Mt. Papandayan in Garut is still on alert status as it continues to experience eruptions, he said. -- Antara
