Three volcanoes return to normal

BANDUNG, West Java: The government has downgraded the status
of three volcanoes in the country from alert to normal.

Akmad Djumarna, director of the Volcanology and Geology
Disaster Mitigation Office, said in Bandung on Friday that the
three volcanoes were Mt. Kerinci and Mt. Tangkubanperahu in West
Java, and Mt. Merapi in Central Java.

However, Mt. Semeru in East Java and Mt. Krakatau in Banten
are among those still on alert status, he said.
