Three Villages in Bogor's Babakan Madang Hit by Drought, 2,319 Residents Affected

Three villages in Cijayanti Village, Babakan Madang District, Bogor, West Java, are experiencing drought due to reduced rainfall in the area. The Head of Emergency and Logistics for the Bogor Regency BPBD, M Adam Hamdani, stated that the community’s water sources have diminished, causing difficulties in meeting daily clean water needs. “Due to the decreasing rainfall intensity in the area, the community’s water sources have been reduced, and residents are struggling to fulfil their daily clean water requirements,” Adam said on Thursday (9/7/2026). The three affected villages are Babakan Cicerewed, Cijayanti, and Cimangurang. Adam noted that a total of 2,319 residents have been impacted, with 1,375 people in Cicerewed, 448 in Cijayanti, and 496 in Cimangurang. Following reports from residents, BPBD personnel distributed 20,000 litres of clean water to the affected communities.
